Did this spot for Mountain Dew with Studio Feather. I was responsible for water droplet condensation on the can.
At first, I tried Houdini’s condensation shelf tool to create flip-based water droplets, but I could not get desired results and to say the least, it was not very art directable. Naturally, I started reading online forums to find people who faced a similar problem. After fiddling around and scramming on the internet, I found a better more procedural way to create water droplets on the can. To summarize, this system uses point scatter with a near-point function to calculate the radius of each droplet to remove intersections. And for the animated drips, it uses an align-along surface vector.
